How does Living Lean™ work?

Living Lean™ is a cognitive-based learning program that explores the causes of your behaviors and then trains you how to permanently change them. The program is delivered via the Internet as a series of engaging and entertaining lectures and interactive assignments.

How long does the course last?

The Living Lean™ online workshop consists of 12 sessions, an orientation, and an introduction. During the first week you will visit the site almost daily. Thereafter, you will visit the website twice per week.

What do I have to do?

After enrolling online and selecting a password, you'll view engaging multimedia presentations accompanied by fun, interactive quizzes … all via the Internet. Most sessions also include an assignment and additional site materials ... everything you need right at your fingertips.

What are the sessions like?

A typical daily session will include a self-evaluation survey to assess your current emotional state, four five-minute segments utilizing engaging video and audio, interactive exercises following each segment, and personalized coaching. You also have access to an online manual, access to a course review for easy reference and support when needed, recipes and food guides, an exercise planner, community message boards for support networking, personalized emails and reminders.

Do I have to stay on a schedule?

Yes. We know the schedule works. You will select your own start date. Thereafter you are asked to stay on schedule. We send emails to remind you of your next scheduled session.

Do I take it at home or work?

It’s up to you. But no matter where you take the course, it is most effective if you find a quiet place free from distractions.

Do I need a high-speed Internet connection?

No. The programs deliver content without pause or delay even using a 28k modem.

What are the computer system requirements?

You will need a Windows PC with speakers, an Internet Explorer browser (AOL browsers are OK), and Windows Media Player and Flash Player. You can download Windows Media Player and Flash Player for free if you don’t already have them.

What if I am having a problem running my course?

Check your computer by visiting the course’s PC Test page. If you are using a pop-up blocker, disable it or allow pop-ups for our pages (selfhelpworks.com). Pop-ups are required to run the course. We dot support Netscape or Apple.

Is it important that I provide a working email address?

Yes. Emails are an integral part of our courses. If you do not receive an email after signing up, your Internet Service Provider (ISP) may think our emails are spam and may block them. In this case, contact your ISP and have them allow any emails with a selfhelpworks.com address.
